Why Circles of Life started

Circles of Life Qld, a not-for-profit organisation, commenced in 2013 to provide a forum for women or men to share their stories of inspiration and motivation in an informal and relaxed setting.  A night when people from all walks of life can come together and have a great time!

Our aim is to bring together the community to help celebrate our achievements, to push through adversity and to realise the personal benefits of contributing to our community - to find and feel comfortable with our place in the circle of life.

Previous forums

Our inaugural forum was held in May 2013 and our speakers were:

Di Fingleton, Kathleen Noonan and Cindy Shannon.

Kelly Higgins-Devine was MC for the night with Joan Hendricks giving Acknowledgement of Country.  It was a fantastic night with over 650 people attending. Entertainment was by the Combined Girls' School Choir.

Following on from the very positive feedback we received from this forum, we held a second forum in August 2014. The speakers were:

Suzy Wilson, Mary-Rose MacColl and Rhianna Patrick.

Once again Joan Hendricks (Acknowledgement of Country), Kelly Higgins-Devine (MC) and Kathleen Noonan ('Last Word') very kindly donated their time. This event was also very well attended with encouraging feedback.  Astrid Jorgensen and the Combined Girls' School Choir delightfully entertained us on the night.

Our last fourm was on 6 May 2015 and our speakers included Dr Kellee Slater (liver transplant surgeon and author), Prudence Melom (refugee and winner of 2013 ABC Heywire award), Kirsty Wright (forensic biologist) and Kathleen Noonan (columnist and journalist). Of course, our wonderful Kelly Higgins-Devine was once again our MC. We were also beautifully entertained by Astrid Jorgensen and the Combined Girls' School Choir.
